It’s been a really strange Summer in the UK. For one, I haven’t been to a single barbecue party so far! This means that the weather hasn’t really been any good for that. It has rained in dribs and drabs and pretty consistently so far the whole Summer.
And I have to say, we haven’t really had a proper Summer, even past mid-summer’s day on June 21.
But the Summer in the UK is quite temperate anyway, and it is very mild and comfortable. So despite the rain, I think it is actually just the right temperature. I have heard from friends and people living in other parts of the world of how bad the heat is. And I am glad to say we don’t have that.
As for the Summer rain, I’ve gotten used to it and even like it now. It’s got a romance to it in some ways. As my workload for tutoring is quiet now, I am able to enjoy the streets of London and the incredible Olympics buzz that is building up, the rain just sort of adds to it.
And that’s why I am now listening to “Summer Rain” by Belinda Carlisle. Check it out 🙂
